The list of the largest cement manufacturers shows the largest producers of cement by country and company.

In economic terms , the annual cement consumption per capita is an interesting parameter. In countries like Indonesia , only around 15 to 20 kilograms per inhabitant are required annually; in countries like Singapore or the Arab countries, consumption can exceed 2000 kilograms per inhabitant per year. Consumption in Germany is around 350 kilograms per inhabitant and year. The annual consumption of cement is an important parameter for the intensity of construction activity in a region.

The construction industry has declined in numerous industrialized countries in recent years, as the construction industry no longer expanded due to meeting demand (housing construction) or a lack of financial resources (public construction, road construction). In contrast, production rose considerably in numerous developing countries , particularly in the People's Republic of China, by far the world's largest producer of cement.

The picture for 2014 was as follows: China was the leading nation in the global cement industry with a total production of around 2.5 billion tons of cement. It was followed by India with around 280 million tons and the USA with 83 million tons of cement. Iran follows in fourth place with 80 million tons. In 2012, around 31 million tons of cement were produced in Germany.

In 2011, 3.4 billion tons of cement were produced worldwide. In recent years, the focus of the cement industry has shifted to the emerging countries, which now use around 90% of cement. 20 years ago it was only 65%.
