Grupo Votorantim is a Brazilian company with headquarters in São Paulo .

The Grupo Votorantim group includes companies that manufacture cement , cellulose , paper , aluminum , zinc , nickel , steel girders , polypropylene films , specialty chemicals and orange juice .

history

The company was founded by the Portuguese immigrant Antônio Pereira Inácio in 1918 in Votorantim . His son José Ermírio de Morais continued to run and expand the company. As a grandson, Antônio Ermírio de Moraes is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Grupo Votorantim .

Banco Votorantim (BV) and its subsidiary BV Financeira are also part of the conglomerate . These currently occupy third place in the financing ranking and operate in a market with banking and financial service providers that were established by foreign investors or have been in the market for a long time. BV recently received the Revista Exame award as the best finance company in the country three times in a row .

The group of companies is multinational. Grupo Votorantim acquired, among other things, an aluminum plant in Canada to which Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio (CBA) belongs.

The youngest branch of the group of companies is Votorantim Ventures , founded four years ago , an investment fund with 300 million dollars in capital that pursues a strategy of diversified investments in future technologies and potential growth industries such as biotechnology , bioinformatics , data and call centers , e-commerce and biodiversity .
