List of Italian Nobel Laureates
Encouraged by Bertha von Suttner , the Nobel Prize has been financed since 1901 from the foundation funds of the Swedish chemist and industrialist Alfred Nobel ( 1833 - 1896 ) . The following Italians received the award. Those marked with an asterisk (*) are led by the Nobel Prize Committee for the USA, where they worked in science after they were born in Italy and studied except for Capecchi.
