List of Togo's political parties

The list of political parties in Togo includes the current and historical parties of the West African state of Togo . Togo is politically dominated by the "unity party" Rassemblement du peuple togolais . The opposition parties that are also permitted have hardly any chance of development.

Unity party

The party founded by Gnassingbé Eyadéma was the only party during his dictatorship until other parties were admitted on April 12, 1991.

Radical opposition

The Radical Opposition of Togo is boycotting elections over allegations of manipulation by the RPT. The opposition parties put up their own candidates for the 2005 presidential election, but there was disagreement between the opposition parties. The radical opposition parties nominated Emmanuel Bob-Akitani from the ranks of the UFC as a joint candidate, while the other opposition parties listed below supported Léopold Gnininvi from the ranks of the radical opposition party CDPA as a candidate.
