The list includes existing and former monasteries of the Order of the Redeemer . These are called Birgittenkloster , historically Brigittenkloster .
Existing monasteries
Medieval branch
There are still three Birgitten monasteries that go back to medieval tradition
- Pax Mariae Vadstena Abbey, Sweden, first monastery since 1384
- Maria Refugie , Uden , Netherlands
- Maria Hart , Weert , Netherlands
Swedish branch
The Swedish branch, which has existed since 1911/1940, includes around 50 convents in Europe, North America and Asia.
- Santa Brigida , Rome, mother house since 1911
- Birgittenkloster Trondheim , Notwegen, since 1998
- Birgittenkloster Bremen , since 2002
Spanish branch
The Spanish branch ( Brigitten von Valladolid ), which was founded by Marina de Escobar in 1630, still includes four monasteries in Spain, four in Mexico and one in Venezuela
North American branch
There has been another branch in the USA since 1976.

- Convento Santa Brigida al Paradiso (Chiesa Santa Brigida al Paradiso) Florence (1390 double monastery, since 1526 nunnery, relocated in 1776) second monastery of the order
- Brigittenkloster Danzig (founded 1392/94, temporarily secularized double monastery in 1817), third monastery
- Birgittenkloster Mariendal Pirita near Tallinn / Reval, today Estonia (1407–1577, ruins, new monastery since 2001)
- Birgittenkloster Marienwohlde , near Mölln, Northern Germany (founded in 1413 by Mariendal near Reval, secularized in 1558)
- Syon Abbey (first Brigitten monastery in England in 1415, dissolved in 1534, richest monastery in England, reestablished elsewhere in 1861–2012)
- Brigittenkloster Mariakrone , Stralsund (founded by Marienwohlde in 1420, destroyed in 1525)
- Birgittenkloster Munkeliv , Norway (before 1425–1455, 1480 - approx. 1530)
- Brigittenkloster Lublin , Poland (1426)
- Birgittenkloster Gnadenberg , Upper Palatinate (monks 1426–1563, nuns 1435–1563, then Salesians 1671–1802), first Birgittenkloster in southern Germany, now in ruins

- Marienforst Abbey , near Bonn-Godesberg (founded in 1450, secularized in 1802)
- Brigittenkloster Elbing , Prussia (founded in 1458, dissolved around 1519)
- Birgittenkloster Marienbaum , Xanten (1460, 1802 secularized)
- Birgittenkloster Maihingen , Bavaria (1472–1607, then Franciscan until 1803)
- Birgittenkloster Altomünster , Bavaria, (founded in 1488, double monastery in 1497, nuns in 1803, dissolved in 2013, previously a hermitage since before 760, then a Benedictine monastery), the last still existing monastery of the old branch in Germany
- Marienbloem Monastery (Marienblum), Kalkar (founded in 1602, secularized in 1802)
- Maria im Spiegel Monastery (Maria Sion) Cologne (founded in 1613, secularized in 1802)
