The name Caio Duilio was given to several ships of the Italian Navy.

Origin of name

Gaius Duilius is named after Gaius Duilius , a Roman politician and naval leader who won the naval battle of Mylae (260 BC) in the First Punic War thanks to innovative boarding bridges , thereby breaking the naval rule of Carthage .
