Lithuanian badminton championship
Lithuanian badminton championships have been held since 1963, during the existence of the Soviet Union as the championships of the Soviet Republic. The staging of team championships began in 1964, from Junior Championships 1967. International Championships of Lithuania has been around since 1992. However, it did not take place annually.
The championships arose from the USSR championship in badminton . After the collapse of the Soviet Union , Azerbaijan , Armenia , Belarus , Estonia , Georgia , Latvia , Lithuania , Moldova , Russia and Ukraine started their own championships within the European Badminton Federation (EBU), while Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan found a new home in the Asian Badminton Federation found.
