LiteratureRoom
The LiteraturRaum is a cultural sponsoring project in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf that has existed since September 2009 . It was launched as a cooperation project between the Hotel Bleibtreu and the Berlin International Literature Festival .
background
As part of the project, the hotel invites international writers to stay in Berlin for four to six weeks. The hotel provides board and lodging in order to enable the authors to write in peace, find inspiration for their works and get to know Berlin's cultural world. In return, the authors report on their Berlin experiences on a blog, take part in a reading that usually takes place in the hotel and leave the project with a literary text that is published as an anthology .
The program is curated by the director of the ilb, Ulrich Schreiber .
The project was originally planned to run for one year, but is currently (as of February 2012) being continued.
