The Literaturhaus Köln also maintains cooperations through which events such as the international Poetica literature festival , the award ceremony of the NRW Prize for Literature or the Rolf Dieter Brinkmann Scholarship are included in the program.

Bachem House

At the end of the 13th century there were originally gardens between the Alter Mauer am Bach street and today's Färbergasse, which in 1280 fell to the patrician family of the "Saphiren". The archbishop's chamberlain, Nickolaus von Bachem, had two buildings erected there: the large and the small Bachem . These were torn down in 1590, the cellar vaults have been preserved from this period. Two new buildings were erected, as indicated by the corresponding dating on the current facade of the Great Bachem . The Große Bachem , which, in contrast to the Kleiner Bachem , still stands today, has experienced a wide variety of uses. A wine tavern was located there from 1795, a brewery from 1828, and a restaurant was located there in 1920. After the bombardment of 1943, the entire area around the Great Greek Market was almost completely destroyed. The foundation walls of the Großer Bachem, the baroque stairs made of cherry wood that have survived to this day, and the hanging rooms could be saved. In the post-war period, a wholesaler for bakery and ice cream machines was based in Großer Bachem , and in 1963 an additional building was added on the neighboring property. Since 2014, the Literaturhaus Köln eV has rented the lower two floors as event and office space.
