Literature Prize of the City of Fulda

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The City of Fulda Literature Prize is a German literature prize from the city of Fulda , which was first awarded in 2019 for the best German-language debut work of the book season and has been awarded annually since then.

The prize is endowed with 10,000 euros (as of 2020) and is awarded by a five-member jury, each consisting of two authors and two literary critics. Each member of the jury proposes five works, from which two are then selected for a shortlist of 10 titles. The winner will then be determined at the jury meeting. The award ceremony will take place in the Fulda City Palace as part of the Literature series in the City Palace . The organization of the award ceremony is the responsibility of Silke Hartmann from the Frankfurt agency Kulturperle .

The first prizewinner in 2019 was Johanna Maxl with our big album electric days , released in 2018 by Matthes & Seitz , which came on stage in the same year as a theater project by the group James & Priscilla.

In 2020, Nadine Schneider for three kilometers (published by Jung und Jung ) and Olivia Wenzel for 1000 Serpentinen Angst (published by S. Fischer Verlag ) will be awarded two authors; the endowment is shared.
