Extraction and presentation
Lithium bromite can be obtained by reacting lithium bromate with lithium bromide at 190 to 220 ° C.
The compound can also be prepared by reacting bromous acid with lithium hydroxide .

Lithium bromite is a very hygroscopic solid that decomposes with melting at 225 ° C.
