Little, Brown and Company
Little, Brown and Company is an American publishing house .
The company's beginnings go back to 1784 when a bookstore opened in Boston . The publishing house itself was founded in 1837 by Charles Coffin Little and James Brown and was given its current name in 1869. In 1968 Time Inc. bought the publishing house and since 2006 it has been operated as an imprint by the Hachette Book Group .
