Little Abbie Brunies
Albert "Little Abbie" Brunies (born 1914 in New Orleans ; † February 12, 1955 in New York City ) was an American drummer of early New Orleans jazz and a member of a well-known family of jazz musicians .
He called himself that to distinguish himself from Abbie Brunies , whose cousin he was. He played mostly in New Orleans and was in New York with Sharkey Bonano's band at the time of his death .
In 1926 he recorded with Irving Fazola at Victor (Bluin the Blues, Original Dixieland One Step). He recorded a lot from 1950 in the Dixieland Revival in New Orleans, including with Sharkey Bonano, Raymond Burke , George Girard , Santo Pecora , Tony Parenti , Lizzie Miles (and Ken Colyer ).
