Little Hudson Shower

"Little" Hudson Shower (* 6. September 1919 in Agiulla , Mississippi ; † 22. March 2009 in Chicago , Illinois ) was an American blues - guitarist and singer .

Hudson Shower grew up in Louise, Mississippi ; when he was twelve he started playing the guitar. In 1939 he came to Chicago , where he became known in the local blues scene from 1946. Stylistically, he was based on models such as Big Bill Broonzy , Big Maceo Merriweather and Tampa Red ; In 1950 he founded his first band, The Red Devil Trio, and played with the pianist Henry Gray. His trio included pianist Lazy Bill Lucas and drummer James Bannister on recordings for Chance and JOB Records . His most popular piece was the jump blues "Shake It Baby". He then appeared in clubs in the city such as the 830 Mambo Club (850 East 43rd) or the Hob-Nob Lounge (5200 Wentworth) in 1955 as the Little Hudson & His 'Shake It Baby' Red Devil Trio . Another well-known song of his was "I'm Looking for a Woman". In 1957, drummer Willie "Big Eyes" Smith played in his band . In 1958, Hudson and his band recorded a single for a radio commercial, "No Money Down," which advertised a record store. In the early 1960s he continued to appear regularly in the clubs, such as in 1963 in Fickle Pickle ; In 1964 he retired from the music business.
