Deirdre is about to take her witch test. To do this, it must have a positive effect on a person's fate. That person is Richard, who is completely under his wife's control.
Deidre is 214 years old but looks like 14. She pretends to be Richard's niece. He also takes her in because she says that her parents have died.
Deidre succeeds in discovering the intrigues his wife is leading against him. So she can finally influence Richard's fate and turn it for the better. As a result, she has passed her witch test and could now become a full-fledged witch. But Deidre would rather live with Richard than his stepdaughter, and so she becomes human and loses her witchcraft.
