Litz Chapel in Schruns

The Litzkapelle stands a little higher on the Ausserlitzstraße at the junction to the Montjola and Bartholomäberg fraction and at a safe distance from the Litz in the market town of Schruns in the Montafon in Vorarlberg . The chapel is under monument protection ( list entry ).

architecture

The rectangular building with a choir with a three-eighth closure under a gable roof carries a roof turret above the choir. The gable front with a round arch portal shows a fresco Anna selbdritt (1688) and a clock above it. The prayer room under a barrel vault shows the ceiling painting Immaculata by Bertle (1886).

A crucifix from the 18th century hangs on the south side of the street. On the side of the choir facing the street, a coat of arms commemorates the Vice Chancellor and federal leader of the Austrian Homeland Security, Ernst Rüdiger Starhemberg , who died here.

Furnishing

The altar from 1688 carries Mary with child (clothed) in the middle and the side figures Antonius and Agatha and on the side raised two bishops and in the entablature God the Father and in the volute excerpt the Holy Spirit with two putti.
