Livingstone Shire
Livingstone Shire is a former administrative district ( LGA ) in central Queensland , Australia . In 2008 the Livingstone Shire together with the Fitzroy Shire and Mount Morgan Shire became the Rockhampton Region .
The district extended over an area of 11775 km². According to the 2006 population census, around 28,870 people lived in the region, which corresponds to a population density of 2.5 / km². Livingstone Shire was located above the Tropic of Capricorn (Tropic of Capricorn). Livingstone Shire was one of the fastest growing counties in Queensland.
Shoalwater Bay (100 km north of Yeppoon and 628 km from Brisbane ) is a 4545 km² military training area.
