Liweri Ossipowitsch Darkschewitsch
Liweri Ossipowitsch Darkschewitsch ( Russian Ливерий Осипович Даркшевич ; born July 17 . Jul / 29. July 1858 greg. In Yaroslavl , † 28. March 1925 ) was a Russian neurologist .
From 1882 to 1887 he studied medicine at Moscow University , after which he worked in the laboratory of Theodor Meynert in Vienna, the laboratory of Paul Flechsig in Leipzig, Carl Westphal's clinic in Berlin and at the Hôpital de la Salpêtrière of Jean-Martin Charcot in Paris. During this time he also worked on medical articles with Joseph Jules Dejerine and Sigmund Freud .
From 1892 to 1917 Darkschewitsch was director of the Department of Neurology at Kazan University . He was the first editor-in-chief of the Kazan medical journal Казанский медицинский журнал . In 1917 he became a professor of neurological diseases at Moscow University.
