Lyapunov Prize
The Lyapunov Prize ( Russian Премия имени А. М. Ляпунова Premija imeni AM Lyapunowa ) was named after the Russian mathematician Alexander Mikhailovich Lyapunov and has been awarded by the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1995 for outstanding achievements in the fields of mathematics or mechanics. Until 1989 this award was given by the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and in 1992 by the Russian Academy as the Lyapunov Gold Medal ( Russian Золотая медаль имени А. М. Ляпунова Solotaja medal imeni AM Lyapunova) forgive. The award of a gold medal was decided in 1969 by the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. The first award took place in 1971.
