Lloyd LaBeach
Lloyd LaBeach ( Lloyd Barrington LaBeach ; born June 28, 1922 in Panama City , † February 19, 1999 in New York City ) was a Panamanian sprinter . He was the first and, until Irving Saladino 2008, only Olympic medalist in his country.
At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 he won two bronze medals: in the 100-meter run with 10.6 seconds (behind the Americans Harrison Dillard and Barney Ewell with 10.3 and 10.4 seconds, respectively) and in the 200 meters - Run with 21.2 seconds (behind the Americans Mel Patton and Ewell, both 21.1 seconds).
