Lloyd William Read (born November 29, 1990 in Newport , Wales ) is a British racing driver .

Career

Read began his motorsport career in karting in 2005 , where he was active until 2009. In 2010 Read made his debut in formula racing and finished third in the San Francisco Formula Enterprises . In 2011 he started in the North Pacific Division of Formula Enterprises and finished sixth in the overall standings. He also took part in a 2011 Star Mazda Championship race for World Speed ​​Motorsports . In the 2011/12 winter series, he achieved second place in the PFM classification of the Formula Car Challenge . In the regular season he reached 5th place in the West Coast Championship and second place in the national championship in the PFM class of the Formula Car Challenge. He also took part in two races in the Star Mazda Championship for JDC Motorsports .

In 2013, Read moved to the racing series renamed Pro Mazda Championship at JDC Motorsports and contested his first full season in professional formula racing. With a fourth place as the best result, he reached eighth place overall. In 2014 Read received a cockpit in the Indy Lights at Bryan Herta Autosport / Jeffrey Mark Motorsport . After the sixth race, his team did not compete in every race and Read lost his cockpit. In the overall standings, he was ultimately in eleventh place.

Personal

Read grew up in Cwmbran , Wales, and moved to the United States in 1999 . In 2005 he moved back to Europe for two years and lived in London . He has lived in California since 2007 . Read holds a bachelor's degree in business administration .
