Lorenzo Lorusso

Lorenzo Lorusso OP (born March 25, 1967 in Bari , Italy ) is a Roman Catholic religious .

Life

Lorenzo Lorusso joined the religious order of the Dominicans in 1990 and put the profession on. He received in 1995 the sacrament of Holy Orders . In the same year he graduated from the Catholic Institute of Toulouse with a degree in Catholic theology . In 1997 Lorusso obtained a licentiate in canon law at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome . Lorenzo Lorusso received his doctorate in canon law at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in 1999 .

Then Lorusso was Professor of Canon Law at the Pontifical Oriental Institute. In 2012 he also became rector of the Basilica of San Nicola in Bari. Lorenzo Lorusso has been Consultor of the Pontifical Council for Legal Texts since 2008 and Consultor of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches since 2014 .

Pope Francis appointed him Undersecretary of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches on November 15, 2014 .
