Lo Man Kam ( Chinese  盧 文錦  /  卢 文锦 , Pinyin Lú Wénjǐn , Jyutping Lou 4 Man 4 gam 2 , born May 25, 1933 in Hong Kong ) is a Chinese Wing Chun fighter and teacher. He is the nephew of the late Grand Master Yip Man .

Originally, the family roots and ancestors are Lo Man Kams from Foshan . The family were imperial officials during the Qing period . There he had first experiences with various martial arts and also learned from his uncle Yip Man, with whom he lived together on a farm. Later, after the end of World War II , he went to Hong Kong , where he trained with his uncle for more years. In 1956, encouraged by his uncle, he went to Taiwan . There he represented the young people of Hong Kong and received private advice from President Chiang Kai-shek . He later returned to Hong Kong but, on the advice of his uncle, went back to Taiwan in 1960 and attended a military school there.

In 1974 he opened a Wing Chun school in Taipei after consultation with his cousin Yip Chun ( 葉 準  /  叶 准 , Yè Zhǔn , Jyutping Jip 6 Zeon 2 , also Ip Chun ) . At the time of opening, Lo Man Kam was the only Wing Chun trainer in Taiwan. There he taught the SWAT teams as hand-to-hand combat instructor for several years in unarmed combat. On behalf of the Taiwan government, he is currently still the responsible trainer at the training center in Taipei.

Only the admission into the inner circle of the Kung Fu family through a traditional tea ceremony to initialize the master-student relationship, the so-called "Bai Si Lai" ( 拜師 禮  /  拜师 礼 , bàishīlǐ , Jyutping baai 3 si 1 lai 5  - "Ceremony for establishing the master-student relationship"), long-time students of "Master Lo" ( 盧 師傅  /  卢 师傅 , Lú Shīfu , Jyutping Lou 4 Si 1 fu 6 ) become "students of the inner circle" ( 門內 徒弟  /  门内 徒弟 , ménnèi túdì , Jyutping mun 4 noi 6 tou 4 daai 6 , English closed door disciple ). In doing so, he continues to follow the Chinese tradition, which through this ceremony creates the close bond between the master - " Sifu " ( 師傅  /  师傅 , also 師父  /  师父 , shīfu , Jyutping si 1 fu 6 ) and the student / apprentice - "Toudai" ( 徒弟 , túdì , Jyutping tou 4 daai 6 ). "Students of the inner circle" learn the Kung Fu system to the end and are entitled to or able to pass on the system in the traditional way from the "Sifu" ( German  master ).

In his school today pupils from all over the world are taught, and Lo Man Kam visits his associations ( English “Associations” ) in the various nations, including the current “Lo Man Kam Wing Chun Association Germany” since 1996, as often as he can has to. During his stays, he gives lessons for the headmasters and also trains the groups in the individual schools personally. Association-open seminars are also held together with the German school principals, which anyone interested in Wing Chun can attend.

In collaboration with Lo Man Kam's student Marc Debus, various books on the "Wing Chun system according to Lo Man Kam" have been published over the past few years.
