Cornelis Adriaan Lobry van Troostenburg de Bruyn
Cornelis Adriaan Lobry van Troostenburg de Bruyn (born January 1, 1857 in Leeuwarden , † July 23, 1904 in Amsterdam ) was a Dutch chemist.
Life
De Bruyn studied science at the University of Leiden from 1875 to 1883 . There he received his doctorate in chemistry in 1883. Until 1896 he worked as a research assistant, first in Leiden, later in Paris and finally again in Leiden. He then took over the management of the chemical laboratory for explosives of the Dutch Navy and taught as a professor of organic and pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of Amsterdam .

- In 1885 he discovered the tautomerism in sugars , which for him and Willem van Ekenstein Alberda named Lobry de Bruyn-van Ekenstein transformation
