Loch an Dherue (partly also: Loch an Deerie or Loch Derry ) is a freshwater lake in Scotland . It is located in the former county of Sutherland in the Highland Council Area . The lake is part of the Kyle of Tongue National Scenic Area
Loch an Dherue is around 2.4 km long and on average around 1 km wide. The water surface covers about 2 km². The lake draws its water mainly from everyday life at Achaidh Mhoir and drains via the Kinloch River and the Kyle of Tongue . The shores of the lake are largely grassland and are completely uninhabited. Loch an Dherue is not accessed by any road. The lake is a fishing area where brown trout in particular can be caught.
