Lochan Sholum is a lake on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . It is located in the southeast of the island on the slopes of the Beinn Sholum about three kilometers north-northwest of Ardbeg . The lake is around 280 m long and a maximum of around 270 m wide.

On the west bank of Lochan Sholum, a stream flows westwards. This feeds the lake Loch Sholum a few hundred meters to the west, a little deeper . From the south-west bank of Loch Sholum a stream flows south and after a few kilometers near the Lagavulin whiskey distillery it pours into Lagavulin Bay . Both lakes together form the water reservoir of the distillery, which uses the stream water for whiskey production. With hole Uigeadail is one of the water reservoirs of the neighboring whiskey distillery is Ardbeg only a few kilometers to the northeast. The remains of a Shieling hut may have been discovered between the two lakes .
