Loiza Lamers (born January 9, 1995 in Driel as Lucas Lamers ) is a Dutch model . She became known as the season 8 winner of Holland's Next Top Model . Lamers is the first transgender woman to win a show from the Next Top Model franchise worldwide .

Lamers was a participant in the 13th season of Let's Dance and took eighth place.

Life

Lamers was born a boy in 1995. She has a brother and a sister. From a young age, she felt like a girl and showed non-conformist behavior to the male sex. In 2015, the documentary Van Lucas naar Luus showed her transition at the age of 10. At the age of 18, she underwent gender reassignment surgery . Before joining Holland's Next Top Model , she worked as a hairdresser .

Career

In 2015 she took part in the eighth season of Holland's Next Top Model . When applying, she did not disclose her trans identity to the producers, but she made it public after rumors on the Internet. She became the winner of that season, but turned down the model contract offered as a prize. In 2017 she made her acting debut in the American television series I Live with Models . PeTA advertised for the first time with trans models in a campaign against fur in 2017: Loiza and Benjamin Melzer . In 2019 she returned to Holland's Next Top Model as a guest judge. In 2020 she took part in the thirteenth season of Let's Dance . Her dance partner was Andrzej Cibis . In the fourth edition, it initially only reached eleventh place. After John Kelly's voluntary exit , she returned to the competition, but dropped out again in the 7th live broadcast.
