The local railway Saitz – Czeicz – Göding (Czech: Místní dráha Zaječí – Čejč – Hodonín ) was a local railway company in today's Czech Republic .

history

On August 21, 1896, the Moravian-Silesian state lawyer Dr. Karl Freiherr von Offermann , the company Lindheim & Co and Mr. Carl Ströhler in Berlin the concession “to build and operate a standard-gauge local railway from the Saitz station on the Lundenburg – Brno line of the kk private Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn via Czeicz and Mutěnitz to the Göding station on the Vienna – Cracow line of the aforementioned main line . The company's share capital totaled 5,218,000 crowns. On May 16, 1897, the line from Zaječí via Čejč and Mutěnice to Hodonín ( Göding ) was opened.

The Kaiser-Ferdinands-Nordbahn (KFNB) carried out the operation on behalf of the local railway Saitz – Czeicz – Göding . After its nationalization in 1907, the management was transferred to the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB).

On July 24, 1908, the Company received the license for a branch line from Čejč to Ždánice ( Steinitz ). The line was opened on September 15, 1908 for freight traffic and on February 6, 1909 for travel.

After the First World War, the management of both lines was transferred to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD.

In 1930 the Saitz – Czeicz – Göding local railway was nationalized by law and the lines were integrated into the ČSD network.

On the route Čejč – Ždánice the tourist traffic was stopped on May 23, 1998, in 2006 it was finally closed. The Zaječí – Čejč – Hodonín line still exists.

Locomotives

No. II CZEICZ

On account of the Saitz – Czeicz – Göding local railway , the KFNB procured three triple-coupled local railway locomotives from Kraus in Linz . The kkStB later gave the locomotives the numbers 564.01–03 .

For operation on the route to Steinitz, the kkStB later also procured a single locomotive of the 97 series and two steam railcars of the 1.3 series . The vehicles had the road numbers 97.253, 1.301 and 1.302.
