London Post Office Railway series 1930

The series 1930 and 1936 of the London Post Office Railway was at English Electric built. Until the introduction of the 1980 series , these railcars formed the backbone of the Post Office Railway's rolling stock. The vehicles replaced the cars of the 1927 series , which often derailed .

Initially, 50 cars were ordered in two deliveries 1930 - 1931 were built. The electrical equipment of decommissioned cars from the 1927 series was reused. Due to increased traffic, ten more cars were built in 1936 . The following table shows the numbering of the series 1930/1936:

After the delivery of the 1980 series , some cars were lifted and in 1984 renumbered from 35–51. All remaining wagons were retired in 2003 when the Post Office Railway was shut down.
