Long Loch is a lake in the Scottish Council Area of East Renfrewshire . It is about four kilometers south of Neilston , five kilometers southeast of Uplawmoor and six kilometers southwest of Newton Mearns . In the past, the boundary between the Neilston and Mearns Parishs ran through the lake. The approximately 240 m high, elongated Loch Long extends from southwest to northeast over a length of 1.8 km. It is at most about 400 m wide. It is surrounded by heathland called Moyne Moor , the western continuation of Mearns Moor . At the north end, the Levern flows out of Loch Long and flows into the Harelaw Dam reservoir, which is just 300 m to the west . Ultimately, it flows through the White Cart Water and the Cart into the Clyde . Trout and perch live in the lake.
