Uplawmoor is a small Scottish hamlet in the south of the East Renfrewshire council area . It is located about 16 kilometers southwest of Glasgow and north of Kilmarnock on the banks of Loch Libo . In 2011, Uplawmoor had 552 inhabitants. This means only a small change compared to the population of 574 in 1971. With the manor house Caldwell House is a building of the highest Scottish monument category A in Clarkston. Mining companies have operated in the area of Uplawmoor in the past.

The village is connected to the road network by the A736 , which connects Irvine via Barrhead to the M8 and the A8 in Glasgow. With the M77 a motorway passes Uplawmoor a few kilometers to the east. Uplawmoor was already connected to the railway network via its own station in the 19th century. The route ran from Glasgow to Kilmarnock. However, the station has since been abandoned.
