Eastwood is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of nine constituencies in the West of Scotland constituency , which was redesigned and renamed West Scotland as part of the constituency revision in 2011 . The boundaries of the constituency of Eastwood were redrawn. The constituency includes areas of the East Renfrewshire Council Area with the town of Newton Mearns and the southern suburbs of Glasgow . Before the borders were revised, the city of Barrhead was also within the constituency. A representative is sent.
The constituency covers an area of 121.6 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 66,511 people lived within its borders.
