Lorena Di Florio

Lorena Di Florio (* 1970 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine pianist.

Di Florio had her first lessons with Ana Tossi de Gelber and her son Bruno Leonardo Gelber , under whose guidance she made her first public appearances at the age of eleven. She continued her education in piano classes from Francisco Votti , Aldo Antognazzi , Perla Brugola , Rosalyn Tureck , Nikita Magaloff , Ralph Votapeck , Gerhard Oppitz and Lazar Berman . A scholarship from the Fundacion Antorchas, YPF e Festivales Musicales enabled her to study privately with Rosalyn Tureck in Oxford from 1995 onwards.

From 1997 to 2000 Di Florio was a student at the Fondazione Internazionale per il Pianoforte in Cadenabbia, where she took lessons with Karl Ulrich Schnabel , Charles Rosen , Dimitri Bashkirov , Leon Fleisher , Fou Tsong , Andreas Staier , Alicia de Larrocha and the institute director William Grant Nabore would have. She completed her studies at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Como with Mario Patuzzi with the top grade and a first-time honorary award.

With orchestras under the direction of conductors such as Francisco Rettig , Pedro I. Calderon , Alberto Merenzon , Thüring Bräm , Johannes Wildner , Jose R. Faure , Guido Boselli and Carlos Giraudo , Di Florio gave concerts in various cities in Argentina and Europe. She received u. a. First prizes at the Primer Concurso Bienal Juvenil Mozart and the Competition of the Secretaria de la Cultura De la Nacion as well as the Premio Franz Terraneo with gold medal for the best piano diploma in 2006.
