The Lorentzenpiggen is a mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . On the west side of the Ahlmannryggen it rises 8 km south of the Vesleskarvet .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped the rock using aerial photographs and measurements of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) made between 1958 and 1959 . Namesake is Bjarne Lorentzen (1900–1981), cook on the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition.
