Lorenz Huber (General)

Lorenz Huber (born July 20, 1938 in Kiel ) is a German former brigadier general in the Bundeswehr .

Life

Huber joined the armed forces as a conscript. After training as an officer, he studied engineering at the Air Force Higher Technical School in Neubiberg . He did his diploma thesis in the field of aerodynamics at the Franco-German research institute ISL in St. Louis .

His assignment as an aircraft engineering officer began in 1965 with Jagdbombergeschwader 43 in Oldenburg and ended in 1998 as head of the Air Force Materials Office in Cologne-Wahn.

After his general staff training from 1972 to 1974 at the Bundeswehr Leadership Academy , he was assigned general staff positions in the Defense Ministry, Federal Chancellery, NATO-HQ-IMS and as director of courses and deputy commander of the Bundeswehr Leadership Academy.

In addition, he was commissioned with a number of studies:

  • "Reorganization of careers in the technical-logistic service" (commissioned by Johannes Steinhoff )
  • Technology study of the Nuclear Planning Group (NPG) on the "Political Implications of New Weapon Technologies "
  • "Logistics savings study: involvement of logistics in the EBMat" (commissioned by Dieter Wellershoff )
  • Effort limitation (AGAB) in the operation of the Bundeswehr (commissioned by Volker Rühe ).

Lorenz Huber has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
