Lorenz Schöfbeck

Lorenz Schöfbeck (born January 8, 1901 in Eibesthal , † August 14, 1977 in Eisenstadt ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and master glass maker . Schöfbeck was married and represented the SPÖ in the Burgenland state parliament from 1945 to 1949 .

Schöfbeck was born as the son of the farmer Johann Schöfbeck from Eibesthal and attended elementary school in Eibesthal. Then he took further training at the trade school and learned the profession of master glazier. He worked in Mistelbach and Vienna and moved to Eisenstadt in 1924, where he opened a business in 1928. Schöfbeck also served in the Wehrmacht from 1940 to 1944 . In 1964 he retired.

Schöfbeck had already become a member of the Social Democratic Party in the interwar period and was active in the SPÖ from 1945. From 1945 to 1948 he was Vice Mayor of Eisenstadt and from 1946 he was regional chairman of the Free Trade Association and vice-chairman of the trade section of the Burgenland Chamber of Commerce. Between December 13, 1945 and October 8, 1949 he represented the SPÖ in the Burgenland state parliament.
