Lorenz Schertler

Lorenz Schertler (born October 2, 1857 in Wolfurt , † December 16, 1936 there ) was an Austrian politician ( CS ), brickworks owner and farmer. He was the mayor of Wolfurt and from 1919 to 1923 a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

Lorenz Schertler was the son of the Wolfurt-born brickworks owner and farmer Josef Anton Schertler (1829-1916) and his wife Johanna Köb (1849-1916). He married Katharina Schertler (1854–1916), born in Kennelbach , on October 17, 1894 in Wolfurt and in 1894 had a son.

After attending elementary school in Wolfurt and business school, he joined his father's company as commercial director. He was also the first parish clerk for the Wolfurt parish from 1882 to 1891 and was a member of the parish council between 1891 and 1924. Between 1891 and 1901 and from 1919 to 1924 he was also the community leader. He was a member of the Christian Social Party and was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from June 17, 1919 to November 5, 1923 as a member of the Bregenz constituency. He was also a member of the Wolfurt savings and loan association and its board of directors and supervisory board, a founding member of the Rickenbach consumer association, treasurer of the Sennereigenossenschaft Hub and chairman of the Vorarlberger Zieglerverband.
