Lorenz Wydeman

Lorenz Wydeman (* around 1517 in Königsberg in the Neumark ; † August 1590 there ) was a German university and grammar school teacher of the 16th century.

Life

From the winter semester 1534/35 studies in Wittenberg. Probably involved in the relocation of Wittenberg University to Jena because of the plague in Wittenberg in the summer of 1535. From the spring of 1540 she was enrolled at the University of Greifswald , which was renewed by Duke Philipp I of Pomerania in 1539 , but probably already as a Wittenberg bachelor's degree. On January 9, 1550, doctorate in Greifswald, from January 16, 1552 public professor of philosophy at the University of Greifswald as successor to Sigismund Schörckel , probably active until 1556. 1559 designated first rector of the Gymnasium Stralsund when it was founded in 1560. On April 20, 1560 he was introduced into his new office by the mayor Nikolaus Gentzkow with a Latin speech. Impeachment in 1562 by the City Council of Stralsund in favor of his successor Nicolaus Strokrantz . 1564–1579 vice principal of the school in his hometown Königsberg in the Neumark, from 1579 its principal until 1586.
