Lorenzo Silva (born June 7, 1966 in Carabanchel , Madrid ) is a Spanish writer of crime fiction and children's books.

Life

Lorenzo Silva grew up in Madrid and studied law at the Complutense University of Madrid . He worked as a lawyer until 2002 and since then as a writer.

The novel La flaqueza del Bolchevique , written in 1995, was nominated for the Nadal Literature Prize in 1997, the book was filmed in 2004 and the screenplay was nominated for the Goya Film Prize. The English translation was published in 2013, the end of the stalker topic is not for the faint-hearted reader, judged the Spain expert Julius Purcell.

In 2000, Silva received the Nadal Literature Prize for El alquimista impaciente . The book was made into a film in 2002. Civil Guard officers Sergeant Rubén Bevilacqua and Corporal Virginia Chamorro appear in the novel , who also appear in other novels and have become a brand in Spain. Silva was finally offered honorary membership of the Guardia Civil in 2010. Silva also received the Ojo Crítico Prize in 1998, the Primavera Prize in 2004 and the Algaba Prize in 2010. In 2012 Silva received the Premio Planeta for the seventh volume La marca del meridiano in the Bevilacqua series .

Silva has also been writing children's books since the beginning and also writes on literary theoretical and social issues.
