Loreto (also: Villa San Martín ) is the capital of the Loreto department in the province of Santiago del Estero in northwestern Argentina . It is 59 kilometers from the provincial capital Santiago del Estero , with which it is connected via the Ruta Nacional 9 . In the classification of the municipalities of the province, it is divided into the 2nd category municipality.
