Loreto Vittori
Loreto Vittori (born January 16, 1604 in Spoleto , † April 23, 1670 in Rome ) was an Italian opera singer ( castrato / mezzo-soprano ) and composer .
Life
Loreto Vittori was educated in Rome and was a student of Giovanni Bernardino Nanino , Francesco Soriano and Francisco Soto de Langa . He then worked as a singer in Loreto and Spoleto and from 1622 until his death he was the singer of the papal chapel in Rome as a soprano. Bernardo Pasquini was one of his students .
In addition to some operas and solo arias that were very popular at the time , he created three oratorios ("Sant'Ignazio di Loyola", "Sant'Irena" and "La Pellegrina").
