Lorna Maitland
Lorna Maitland (* as Barbara Popejoy on November 19, 1943 in Glendale , California ) is an American actress .
Lorna Maitland, who sometimes appeared as Barbara Joy , was one of the most important muses of sexploitation director Russ Meyer . With her dimensions of 42 - 25 - 36 (inches) she corresponded to his ideas of big-breasted actresses. She worked as a dancer in Las Vegas and responded to Meyer's ad. At the age of twenty she played the eponymous lead role Lorna in her first film . Meyer gave her the stage name Lorna Maitland for the film . Maitland was pregnant during the two weeks of filming. The following year she played one of the leading roles in Mudhoney . The film was less successful than its predecessor, Meyer attributed this to the smaller bust size of his actress Maitland after pregnancy. In Meyer's pseudo-documentation Mondo Topless some old recordings of Maitland were used. In 1967 she played her last movie role in the low-budget film Hip Hot and 21 by Dale Berry . Then she ended her film career. Little is known about her later life. She is said to have been in conversation for Angie Dickinson's role in makeup and guns .
