Lorna Wing
Lorna Wing (* 7. October 1928 in Gillingham , † 6. June 2014 ) was a British psychiatrist , in continuation of the work Hans Asperger , the Asperger syndrome defined.
Life
Lorna Wing studied medicine until 1952 and specialized in psychiatry . Due to the fact that she had an autistic daughter, she was particularly interested in profound developmental disorders and did research in this area. In 1962 she teamed up with other parents of autistic children and founded the National Autistic Society in Great Britain , for which she also worked as a psychiatric counselor.
She lived in Sussex .
