Lorraine Shaw
Lorraine Amanda Shaw (born April 2, 1968 in Gloucester ) is a former British hammer thrower .
In 1998, starting for England , she won silver at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur .
At the 1999 World Athletics Championships in Seville, she came in 14th place, at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she was ninth and at the 2001 World Cup in Edmonton sixth.
In 2002 she won the Commonwealth Games in Manchester , in 2003 she was tenth at the World Cup in Paris-Saint-Denis , and in 2004 she was eliminated from the qualification at the Olympic Games in Athens .
At the end of her career, she won bronze at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
She was English champion seven times (1994, 1998, 2000–2004). Her best performance of 68.93 m, set on June 8, 2003 in Loughborough , was a British record until 2013.
