Los Fruittis is a Spanish animated series produced by Antoni D'Ocon in 1987.

content

The series takes place in a village where dried fruits, vegetables and plants live in a community. The village is on an island with a large volcano. There they live together until the volcano begins to cause slight tremors. From that moment Mochilo, Gazpacho and Pincho start looking for a new volcano near which they can live with their community. During their adventure they come across Kumba. With every new adventure they have to solve problems that arise due to their different character traits.

Characters

  • Kumba is a Samai girl, with white skin, auburn hair and two pigtails, who wears two pieces of green cloth as clothing. She was saved from a tiger attack by Mochilo, Pincho and Gazpacho. Kumba helps the little fruits to find a new place to live. Thanks to her good knowledge of the forest, she joins the community. In the third episode, Kumba discovers a message in a message in a bottle from her brother Lukas, who reveals her story in this: Kumba was the daughter of two archaeologists and traveled with them and her brother around the world until her parents passed through the Fall separated from a waterfall. Her brother ran to find the parents, but he never came back. The girl was found by the Sami tribe, from whom she received the name Kumba. The fruits try to reunite Kumba with their family.
  • Mochilo is a male banana that originally comes from the Canary Islands and that carries a backpack from which he can get everything that is needed in an emergency. Mochilo is the most intelligent and most serious of the group, who keeps coming up with ideas to help his companions, since, unlike his comrades, he is the only one who proceeds according to logical thinking. Mochilo meets Gazpacho during a competition in the forest labyrinth in which the expedition members are determined to search for a new place for the community.
  • Gazpacho is a charismatic male Andalusian pineapple and considers itself omniscient. For him, work means that he thinks he has to think for others. However, during his “work” he also falls asleep instead of actually working. He regularly causes confusion with his comments and decisions, especially with Mochilo. Gazpacho also gets the group into trouble more than once by his nature.
  • Pincho is a male cactus with prickly pears , innocent and absent-minded. These characteristics make him particularly receptive to the teasing of gazpacho. Furthermore, Pincho is very uncomplicated, funny and loves to play. It stayed as a cactus in the forest because it could no longer find the way back to the desert. He is found by Gazpacho and Mochilo during the competition in the forest labyrinth. Its spikes are a good defense against most of the enemies they encounter during their adventure. On some occasions he also uses his prickly pears as projectiles.
  • Fresón is the mayor of the municipality. Sometimes he joins the group of Kumba, Mochilo, Gazpacho and Pincho to help them solve a village problem.
  • Alcachofo is a male artichoke who is also an evil pirate . He wears an eye patch, uses a hook as his hand, and the only leg he has is a wooden leg. Alcachofo attacks the fruits very often.
  • Monus is a monkey who works as a scientist and carries out cruel experiments on the animals of the island of the fruit.
  • Gorilón is a tall and clumsy gorilla who serves as Mono's henchman.
