Eddie and Chavo

On August 1st, 2002 Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit came to SmackDown! . The two had previously formed a tag team in RAW . With Benoit concentrating on Kurt Angle , Eddie was forced to alliance with his nephew Chavo. Contrary to an earlier WCW storyline, Chavo adopted his uncle's tactics of lying, cheating, and stealing to win fights. Short clips (vignettes) were shot, where the two u. a. cheated to come to a rich woman's house and have a pool party there.

Her first major appearance was at the eight-team tournament for the new WWE Tag Team title. Here the two began a feud with Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit, who were then acting as a team. One of the most memorable moments was when Chavo told Chris Benoit that his former friend Eddie was being attacked by his tag team partner Kurt Angle. Benoit wanted to help Eddie and was locked in a room. Eddie then came into the room and attacked Benoit with a chair.

Benoit and Angle managed to put their differences aside and beat Los Guerreros in the semi-finals of the tournament. Later, Benoit and Angle won the titles. To their astonishment, however, Los Guerreros then helped them win the final match.

Los Guerreros got a new opportunity to win the title. They had to face the new champions Edge and Rey Mysterio . At the Survivor Series 2002 Rey Mysterio had to give up after a "lasso of El Paso". With this victory, the Los Guerreros began their reign as WWE Tag Team Champions until they could later be defeated by Team Angle again.

Los Guerreros competed in Wrestlemania XIX as a contender for the title, but just before Judgment Day , Chavo tore his biceps. Eddie had to look around for another partner. He chose Yoshihiro Tajiri and together they could win the title in a ladder match on Judgment Day. Since Eddie separated from his new partner Tajiri relatively soon, the title is attributed to the Los Gurreros.

After the Los Guerreros lost the tag team belt this time to the Basham Brothers, Eddie and Chavo became enemies. This led to a match at the Royal Rumble 2004, which Eddie won. There was no further merger between the two. Eddie died of heart failure in 2005. He was found in his hotel room in Minneapolis Minnesota .

The last version of Los Guerrero, which actually comes from Chavo Guerrero jr. and Vickie Guerrero, Eddie's widow, exists. Vickie is also the manager of Chavo. The two try again, according to the family motto, with lies and deceit to win the fights. However, the duo has so far remained without any notable success.
