WWE Raw (full title: WWE Monday Night Raw ) is an American wrestling show run by the WWE . It has been produced by WWE since January 11, 1993 and traditionally broadcast live every Monday evening. Raw is considered the flagship of WWE along with SmackDown because of its long history, high audience figures, and pay-per-view participation .
The show ran on USA Network from 1993 to 2000 , on Spike TV from 2000 to 2005, and has been re-aired on USA Network since 2005. The show has been broadcast in HD since January 21, 2008 . In Canada the program also runs live on The Score and in the UK on Sky Sports . In Germany, Sky Deutschland broadcast WWE RAW live and in full length until March 2014; a summary was broadcast on Saturdays from March 3, 2012 to January 2013 on Sport1 . Since April 2014, the broadcaster Tele 5 has been broadcasting a two-hour version every Thursday, which is heavily edited and, above all, misses div fights. In the pay-TV there was Friday evening on the station ProSieben Fun to see a similar version. On September 26, 2016, it was announced that Tele5 will no longer broadcast WWE Raw as of April 2017. Instead, ProSieben Maxx broadcasts both WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown.
Due to some incidents in which rough swearwords aroused the resentment of the broadcaster during the live broadcast, a time shift of three seconds was decided so that swearwords and the like can be censored on television if necessary in the future.

Monday Night RAW premiered on January 11, 1993 on USA Network . As the first and only weekly wrestling show at the time, RAW was also one of the main reasons for the WWE success story. RAW reached the real climax with the feud against Monday Nitro , whereby the name Monday Nitro in English is homophonic , meaning Monday Night RAW . The nitro show of the WCW and RAW had gigantic ratings in the region of 7.0, which is particularly high for a wrestling show. On May 10, 1999, RAW achieved 8.1 rating points, the highest audience rating for a weekly wrestling show ever. RAW is still one of the most successful weekly shows on US television.
After the WCW was bought up by the WWE, RAW slowly went downhill because there was no strong competition and the Attitude era ended in 2002. For this reason, SmackDown was given more and more the image of a “competition show” to RAW, as they wanted to revive the interest of the fans by the apparent competition between the two shows.
This competition expressed itself in particular through the strict roster split , which states that no wrestler from one show may appear in the "other" show. This strict separation was relaxed on August 29, 2011, as all WWE Superstars have been able to appear on all shows since then. By eliminating the roster split , the principle of the RAW SuperShow was created to reflect the new development in the name.
On May 17, 2012, it was announced that the RAW SuperShow would always be held for three hours starting July 23, 2012, the day the 1,000th episode airs , with viewers also having the option of online and WWE - Determine mobile app match and show content. Since then, the show has been simply called (Monday Night) RAW , previously "RAW SuperShow".
Since the return of the roster split on July 19, 2016, which was abolished in 2011, the RAW superstars have now appeared again "exclusively" for "their show" and pay-per-view events. Before that, all WWE wrestlers were able to appear in all shows and hold all titles ("supershow principle"). The first "RAW-PPV" after the roster split will be "Clash Of Champions" in September 2016. The WWE applied this principle until March 2007, before opening the PPVs to all roster.
WWE Heat was RAW's B-Show, in which the less active wrestlers of the RAW roster were used. The show was recorded before RAW and always aired six days later on the WWE homepage. In Germany you could see Heat at the premiere . On May 30, 2008, Heat was discontinued and the WWE Vintage Collection took its place. "Heat" was the counterpart to WWE Velocity from SmackDown.
The USA Network also has AM Raw which shows short reruns of scenes from the last RAW show.
From April 4 to June 6, 2011, WWE Tough Enough aired following WWE RAW.
