Career

Japan and ECW

Tajiri made his debut in IWA Japan in the late 1980s and then worked for the Japanese division of the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. In 1997 he left the CMLL and joined Big Japan Pro Wrestling in Tokyo. 1997 followed a short appearance in the WWF, which preceded his debut in Extreme Championship Wrestling in December 1998. In the ECW, Tajiri had long feuds with Super Crazy, Little Guido and Jerry Lynn and won two titles.

WWF / WWE

In 2001 the ECW was taken over by the WWF, whereby Tajiri got a contract with the WWF. On May 24, 2001 he made his debut in the WWF roster SmackDown . The Japanese won his first title after defeating Chris Kanyon, which earned him the WCW United States Championship . After only a short time as regent of the title, he lost the belt to Rhyno . In 2002 and 2003 he held the WWE Cruiserweight Championship for some time .

In 2004 he had two chances at the WWE Championship , which he was not allowed to use either. He was later transferred to RAW , where he and William Regal won the Tag Team Championship of La Résistance (Sylvain Grenier and Rob Conway ) on February 4, 2005 , which they had to surrender on May 1, 2005. In December of the same year Tajiri left the WWE.

Return to Japan; WWE offers

In his native Japan he made his comeback wrestling for HUSTLE and is currently working for All Japan Pro Wrestling .

The WWE had already made him various offers for an immediate return to the doctorate several times, which was rejected by Tajiri. At the beginning of 2008 he nevertheless made a few appearances for the WWE, but these were always non-binding individual commitments.
