Los Placebos is a ska band from the Ruhr area founded in 1994 . She mixes the original Ska music with elements from jazz , pop , punk and soul and goes on concert tours through Germany and neighboring European countries.
After winning a regional music competition and the associated production of a maxi CD as well as the release of a 7 "vinyl single and appearances with Laurel Aitken , Mr. Review and Dr. Ring-Ding , the ska label Grover Records took the band Under contract in 1998. Her debut album Dispensor was released in the same year, followed by some sampler contributions and another maxi CD, the second album Respect Is Due and the EP Riddim 94 (both released on the Fire Torch Records label) in the following years. The band members are supporters of the MSV Duisburg and wrote several pieces for the club, including the film music for the documentation Meiderich Vice Master .
