Jo Jae-hyun (born June 30, 1965 in Seoul ) is a South Korean actor. He is considered to be the favorite actor of Kim Ki-duk .

Life

Jo Jae-hyun started acting in 1989. He already played the leading role in Kim Ki-duk's first film Crocodile (1996), but it was only with Seom - Die Insel and the very controversial pimp film Bad Guy that he became internationally known.

In 1991 he received the Baeksang Arts Award and the Blue Dragon Award for Best Young Actor for Slicing Sadness With A Knife In My Heart .

A daily newspaper poll of 105 directors, scriptwriters and reporters found him to be the most respected actor in South Korea.
